Murray Edwards College provides academic excellence within a warm and welcoming community. At its heart lies a proactive commitment to improving the opportunities open to women within education and their professional lives
Our College makes a difference.
In learning: we strengthen understanding about how women learn and provide a stimulating and supportive environment – more than 92 per cent of our students achieve a 2.1 or first.
In personal development: we provide networking and leadership workshops, as well as travel opportunities and challenges to build insight, confidence and resilience.
In careers: we offer work shadowing, internship placements and CV advice to help students develop the knowledge and experience to make good choices and achieve their goals.
In giving voice: we encourage our students to speak out and be heard – they engage in College decision and policy making and interact with prominent guest speakers.
In respecting others: the College welcomes and respects students from all backgrounds and many countries, constantly developing to reflect this commitment.
Our distinctive skyline, light buildings and informal gardens are a short walk from both central Cambridge and the West Cambridge Site. Students enjoy modern accommodation (many rooms are en suite), a well-stocked library, a gym, a squash court and tennis courts. The cafeteria is popular, especially Saturday brunch and the salad bar. This comfortable living environment and the stimulating range of activities together provide the energy and special character for which the College is known.
As an open and outgoing College, our students are involved in the full range of academic and social activities across the University, and students (of all genders) are always welcome to join in our day to day life here. Come and see for yourself.
