This policy page outlines how we collect your information when you register for an event or sign up for event updates and how we use it. By providing us with this information you consent to the terms of this policy.

Collection of information

We will sometimes use Eventbrite to collect information when you book onto one of our events. This is a third party service which is not operated by the University of Cambridge. The Eventbrite privacy policy can be found here

Using your data

The data you provide will be processed and held by the University of Cambridge for the purposes of organising an event, sending you information about the University and/or tracking future applications. It will always be safeguarded under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998.

Personal data collected from prospective applicants will retained in its captured form until the point at which the student could reasonably have been expected to apply to higher education. After this time, the data will be anonymised and any data not required for statistical purposes will be deleted.

Contacting you

We may contact you via MailChimp when you book onto an event or ‘register interest’ on our website. MailChimp allows you to unsubscribe from this email contact by clicking on unsubscribe on any of the emails sent. Our distribution lists are stored on a secure MailChimp server.

Sharing your data

We may pass your data to a third party (including the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service, the Higher Education Access Tracker and the Higher Education Statistics Agency) in order to track applications to Higher Education.
