Stargazing event

For children in care in school years 7-11

Would you like to:

  • hear about outer space from a Cambridge astrophysicist?
  • gaze at the stars and see the beautiful city of Cambridge by night?
  • get a taste of life as a student at the University of Cambridge?

If you answered yes to ANY of the above then this FREE evening event is for you!

The programme will include:

  • ‘Introduction to University’ talk and free dinner at a college in Cambridge
  • ‘Exploring the Solar System’ talk by a Cambridge astrophysicist
  • Stargazing using astronomical telescopes – weather permitting

This event is for children in care of all abilities in school years 7-11, who are enthusiastic about education or astronomy. Perhaps you would like a taste of higher education and what is on offer at the University of Cambridge, or simply want to discover more about your interests and future options. This will be an informative and inspiring event!

Attendees are welcome to bring a foster carer/social worker/teacher with them, and a foster sibling/friend if they wish. The travel for all participants is funded by the University. Once you have booked you will be contacted by email nearer the time with further information.
