Undergraduate Study

Were you emailed about Adjustment by the Director of Admissions for the Cambridge Colleges earlier this year? If so, then you may be eligible to put yourself forward for consideration for an Adjustment place at the University of Cambridge.

How to apply via Adjustment

Once you have your results, please check carefully that you:

  • Are definitely eligible for UCAS Adjustment (having met all of the conditions of your offer and exceeded at least one);
  • The Cambridge course you applied for has Adjustment places available (see table below).
  • You have achieved at least the typical offer for the Cambridge course you applied for (shown in table);

If you can answer yes to all of the above and wish to be considered for an Adjustment place at Cambridge, then you need to register your expression of interest by completing the online form between 08:00 and 13.00 (UK time) on Thursday 15 August 2019. Once we have received and checked your expression of interest, an administrator at the Cambridge Admissions Office will call you back to can confirm your details and explain the next steps in the process.

At the same time, you must also login to UCAS track and register yourself for Adjustment.

We're aware that you can nominate an individual to act on your behalf when dealing with matters relating to your UCAS application. However, please note that we will not liaise with this person on matters relating to Adjustment and all communications regarding this process must take place with you directly.

What happens next?

All confirmed Adjustment eligible applications will be considered by the Cambridge Colleges on a gathered field basis during the afternoon of Thursday 15 August 2019, and applicants will hear the outcome of that meeting, via email later that same evening. Emails will be sent from adjustment@admin.cam.ac.uk and will have the subject line ‘Application to the University of Cambridge – Adjustment’. We recommend that you add this email address to your ‘safe senders’ list.

There will be no further interview as part of the Adjustment application process. Those offered a place will have until 11am on Friday 16 August 2019 to respond to the email confirming if they wish to accept the offer.

If you do choose to accept the offer, we will then enter an Adjustment Acceptance with UCAS and you can expect to hear from the College shortly after this.

If you choose not to accept the offer, or you don’t accept your offer by the deadline (see above), then no further action will be taken. You will be free to pursue other options or continue with your firm choice institution.
