Undergraduate Study

Emmanuel College is launching a brand-new programme, “EMMbark”, for Year 12 students who identify as being from an ethnic or racial minority (ERM) background that is under-represented at the University of Cambridge: Asian or British Asian (Bangladeshi and Pakistani subgroups), all Black subgroups, Arab, Roma/Gypsy/ Traveller, and students of mixed heritage where a least one of these is included.

From January - February 2025, Year 12s who are selected for the programme will attend online webinars covering a range of topics relating to Cambridge University. These webinars will be hosted by current undergraduate mentors at Emmanuel who also identify as being from an ERM background, offering the Y12s the opportunity to connect with students who share similar experiences and learn about the process of applying to and studying at Cambridge.

Year 12s and one Parent/Guardian will also be invited for the day to Emmanuel College, Cambridge in February, to experience College life and meet with the undergraduate mentors in-person. All travel costs will be covered, and a free lunch will be provided.

Please note that this scheme is only open to state school students in our Link Areas: Sheffield, Essex*, Thurrock, and Southend-on-Sea.

*This does not include schools in the London Boroughs of Enfield, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Havering, or Barking & Dagenham that have Essex addresses.
