Undergraduate Study
Are you fascinated by languages? Keen to discover more about the different cultures, histories and politics of the world? Would you like to learn some new vocabulary and get a taste for language study at university? If so, Langevity is the programme for you!
Divided into two parts, Langevity offers UK-domiciled students in Years 10, 11 and 12 (or equivalent) the opportunity to explore languages both familiar and new. The first part of the programme consists of weekly webinars from January to March, each delivered by a Cambridge academic and spotlighting a language taught at Cambridge. The second part of the programme is a one night residential at Emmanuel College in early April for a small group of Year 12s who attended the webinars. Year 12s wishing to attend the residential will be prioritised based on Widening Participation and academic criteria.
This programme is entirely free of charge, with the cost of food, travel, and accommodation for those selected to come on the in-person residential covered by the College.
The online sessions will take place every Thursday from 5-6.30pm, starting the 22nd January. This year's series will include sessions on the following*:
*The languages on offer are provisional and may be subject to last-minute change; you will be informed of such changes at the earliest opportunity.
**The Combining Languages with History webinar will be led by an academic specialising in French, but you can combine other European languages with History at Cambridge.
