Clearing and the adjustment period 2016
The University of Cambridge doesn’t enter Clearing and so has NO COURSE VACANCIES through Clearing. Further information about Clearing is available from the UCAS website.
In addition, the University doesn’t consider any applications as part of the adjustment period. If your examination results are better than expected and, having carefully considered your options, you decide you’d now like to apply for a place at Cambridge, you’ll need to apply as part of the next application round.
Conditional offer holders
If you’re holding a conditional offer of a place at a University of Cambridge College and:
- you’ve met or exceeded all the conditions of your offer, congratulations! You don’t need to do anything. Your College will already be aware of your A Level (or equivalent) results, and your place will have been automatically confirmed. You’ll receive a letter from the College and from UCAS in a few days. Please don’t phone the College at this busy time. In the meantime, take a look at the information for new undergraduate students
- you haven’t quite met the offer, please don’t panic! Depending on the number of students who have met their offers, there may be a few spaces available at the College you applied to or at another College. Please be patient – your College will contact you as soon as possible and you can check the status of your application on UCAS Track which will be updated as soon as possible once a final decision is made, rather than telephoning the College/University at this busy time
- your grades are substantially lower than those required by your offer, hopefully you’ll have made the grades for your insurance offer. Unless there are special circumstances to consider, your application to Cambridge will have been unsuccessful. You’ll receive a letter from UCAS stating this so that you can take up your insurance place or enter Clearing
- you haven’t received all of your results, please don’t panic! We know that sometimes there are processing problems and the College will already be aware that you’re missing a particular result. Please contact your College as soon as you’ve received your missing results. Normally we have to make decisions on all conditional offers by 31 August. After that date decisions on whether or not to accept applicants are at the discretion of the College
