Undergraduate Study

 

The following Colleges will consider applications from overseas students wishing to undertake a short course of undergraduate study in Cambridge. These courses start in October and last for one year. Courses normally consist of the first or second year of the appropriate Cambridge course. Visiting students will be expected to take an examination at the end of the year.

Fitzwilliam

Number of places per year: 5

Junior Year Abroad and ERASMUS students are welcome to apply, although applicants must have completed at least one year of university study and achieved high standards.

Applications will not be considered for Architecture, Law, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.

Homerton

Homerton currently only considers applications from non-degree students under the auspices of the ERASMUS and DAAD funding schemes.

Lucy Cavendish

Number of places per year: 20

Lucy Cavendish takes applications from visiting students who wish to study at Cambridge for a full academic year and will be 21 when starting the year. Applicants should have a strong academic track record. The application deadline is 1 March and information on how to apply can be found on the Lucy Cavendish website.

Applications will not be considered for considered for Architecture, Medicine or Veterinary Medicine.

Magdalene

Number of places per year: 2

Places available for DAAD, ERASMUS or Junior Year Abroad applicants. Applicants are required to submit a CV, academic transcript, references, financial support details and a statement from their home university approving the application by the deadline of 15 November. Additional information may be required.

Applications will not be considered for considered for Architecture, Law, Mathematics, Medicine or Veterinary Medicine.

Newnham

Number of places per year: 2

Applications accepted from Junior Year Abroad students from Columbia. Strong applications from Studienstiftung and DAAD students from Germany and ERASMUS students from EU countries may also be considered. Application deadline: 31 January.

Pembroke

Applications are considered from one-year visiting students normally limited to Studienstifung and DAAD students from Germany, ERASMUS students from EU countries, and Junior Year Abroad students from the University of Chicago, Columbia University, Brown University, Butler University and Occidental College. Application deadline is 31 January.

Peterhouse

Number of places per year: 3

Visiting student applications are considered to study Economics, History, History of Art, and Philosophy. Students from German universities may take Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Very high school-leaving and university grades required. Peterhouse only consider students wishing to study for a full academic year. Applications from Erasmus, Junior Year Abroad or DAAD are also considered. Application deadline is 31 January.

Robinson

Applications are considered from one-year visiting students normally limited to Studienstifung and DAAD students from Germany, ERASMUS students from EU countries, and Junior Year Abroad students from the University of Cornell and Columbia University. Application deadline 13 November.

Applications will not be considered for considered for Architecture, Medicine or Veterinary Medicine.
