The requirements on this page are for those applying to study Biological Sciences in the Natural Sciences course.

The listed entry requirements relate to entry in 2026 or deferred entry in 2027. They are currently draft entry requirements and will be confirmed in June 2025.

Minimum offer level

A level: A*A*A 
IB: 41-42 points, with 776 at Higher Level
Other qualifications: Check which other qualifications we accept

To apply to any of our Colleges for Natural Sciences, you will need A levels/IB Higher Levels (or the equivalent) in: 

  • Mathematics 
  • 2 other science or mathematics subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and, for A level only, Further Mathematics)

If you’re studying a science that’s not listed as your third subject, please contact the admissions office of your shortlisted College(s) for advice.

You may need to have studied specific science subjects to apply to some Colleges and/or to take certain first-year options. Check the course website for first-year option requirements. Visit the websites of your shortlisted College(s) before applying.

College entry requirements

The following Colleges usually set offers at the minimum offer level. They may sometimes ask for higher grades or an A* in a particular subject(s). Those Colleges are:

The following Colleges set extra conditions for most or all offers. For example, they may make a higher offer or specify an A* in a particular subject(s) - generally at least one from Biology, Mathematics, and Chemistry. For more information check the College websites:
