Undergraduate Study

The University has taken the decision that the Cambridge Open Days will continue as planned, including events held in Cambridge on 15 and 16 September.

The University of Cambridge community has been greatly saddened by the death, on Thursday 8 September, of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

If you wish to pay respects during your visit, the University Church, Great St Mary’s, will be open 9am to 6pm daily, and a Book of Condolence provided by the City of Cambridge will be available to the public.

Cambridge Hybrid Open Days, 15 and 16 September 2022

Our next in-person Open Days will be taking place on 15 and 16 September, with virtual content and sessions available from 5 September to 18 September 2022.

The focus of these Open Days will be 'Colleges' with the return of the popular ‘Choosing a College’ webinar and many Colleges open for tours.

Cambridge Hybrid Open Days are aimed at prospective applicants from Year 13 (or equivalent) and mature applicants (aged 21 or over), together with their parents or supporters, to help them learn more about the University.

What to expect

View the Open Days Programme for full details of what's on. We’ve also compiled some tips and advice to help you get the most from our Open Days.

We're planning a hybrid approach to our September Open Days, offering prospective applicants and their supporters the chance to visit the University of Cambridge in person if they wish to, alongside virtual content, such as webinars and pre-recorded videos for students to learn more about studying here too.

The September Hybrid Open Days will focus on Colleges to help you finalise your College choice ahead of the October deadline.

  • Warm-up Webinars (5 September – 8 September)
Our series of Warm-up Webinars will cover key topics, such as Applying to Cambridge and Choosing a College. Most will consist of a presentation with time for questions at the end. All sessions will be recorded and made available to view on our website until Sunday, 18 September.
  • Virtual (5 September – 18 September)
Virtual Open Day content will go live on our Virtual Tour from Monday, 5 September. You'll be able to find out more about the University by watching presentations about our courses and sample lectures. You can visit our Colleges and University facilities virtually, using our 360 platform. This content will remain live until Sunday, 18 September.
  • In-person days (15 September – 16 September)
We'll be welcoming students and their supporters to explore Cambridge in person on either Thursday 15 or Friday 16 September. These days will focus on Cambridge Colleges, with many Colleges open for you to look around, meet current students and staff, and to find out more about what studying at Cambridge is like. Please note that most subject departments won’t be open as part of the in-person days, but all our undergraduate courses will have virtual content available through on-demand course presentations and/or sample lectures. View our Open Days programme for full details.
  • Virtual Q&As (12 September – 13 September)
In the week leading up to our in-person days, we will be offering a range of evening virtual events for you to interact with our Colleges, course representatives and students. These events are an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about studying at Cambridge.
