We are offering a free, day-long programme for prospective undergraduate Medicine applicants in Year 13 or equivalent, i.e., those applying in 2025/26 for 2026 university entry or deferral. Our programme will include masterclasses, an ethics workshop and an admissions talk, as well as tours of the College and a free lunch in our dining hall. Formal sessions will be led by our Directors of Studies in Medicine (Dr Jason Ali and Professor Liz Soilleux) with current medical students who will remain throughout the day to help answer any questions you may have about the Medicine course, Churchill College and/or studying at the University of Cambridge.
You must be taking A Level Chemistry and at least one - optimally two - of Biology, Physics, and Mathematics. If you’re studying the same subjects at IB Higher Level, Pre-U, or Scottish Advanced Highers then you’re equally welcome. Typical Medicine entrants to Cambridge have very strong predictions amongst these subjects, so we would expect these too.
Parents/guardians/carers are welcome to attend - we will be hosting a separate session towards the end of the day for parental figures who may have questions; however, during the programmed events, they are invited to leave the students with us and go elsewhere, perhaps to explore the city, or spend time in our cafe ('the Buttery').
The event will take place between 9:30am and 4pm. There will not be parking available at Churchill College, therefore, for those travelling by car, we would recommend Madingley Road Park and Ride.
Please register your interest by Friday 1st August. We may close registrations early if we reach capacity. We will inform you by Friday 8th August if you have been allocated a place (allocated on a first come, first served basis). If you have any questions, please contact us at outreach@chu.cam.ac.uk.
