Undergraduate Study

The Insight programme works with targeted schools across Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and West Norfolk. In the same way that Insight is designed to deliver sustained engagement to participants, we also seek to maintain long-term relationships with our partner schools. As we aim to work closely with school partners, adding additional partners is uncommon. However, we are aware that there are many schools who could benefit from the programme and we are always open to discussing the possibility*.

We are particularly keen to build relationships with state schools who can evidence the following characteristics:

  • Schools that have a record of high achieving students
  • Schools with an above national average percentage of students in receipt of FSM
  • Schools with an above national average percentage of students who live in POLAR 4 and/or IMD quintiles 1&2
  • Schools with a history of low progression rates to Oxbridge
  • Schools with a history of low progression rates to Top-Third universities
  • Insight Discover (for Years 7-8) is a school based programme. Schools are responsible for bringing students to events and, as such, each school is able to register 12 students on the programme. This means we have a maximum capacity for the number of schools we can have on the programme, and we might not always be able to take on new schools.
  • Insight Explore participants (Years 9-11) attend our events independently on Saturdays and during school holidays. Travel by coach or train will be arranged for all participants, however, students will be required to make their own way to a local meeting point to travel to Cambridge. To facilitate this, we arrange coaches to pick up students from designated locations in Peterborough and West Norfolk. Participants would need to be able to get to one of these locations or a venue in Cambridge.

* Please note that there are some logistical considerations to take into account to ensure that any participant is able to fully take part in the programme.
