Are you fascinated by the past? Are you interested in studying languages, literature, history or the arts? Queens’ College Cambridge invites students entering Y12 (England and Wales) Y13 (Northern Ireland), or S5 (Scotland) in September 2025 to discover the history and cultures of the medieval world.

  • Share your passion for the past and explore all things medieval with experts from the Cambridge University departments of English literature, Anglo-Saxon Norse and Celtic, History of Art, Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, and Architecture.
  • Find out about the range of degree courses available at the University of Cambridge.
  • See the architecture of the medieval university, and view precious medieval manuscripts.

Thanks to the generous support of the Isaac Newton Trust, a small number of residential places are available for the night of Sunday September 28. Priority for these places will be given firstly to students from the Bradford area (e.g. Bradford, Bingley, Ilkley, Keighley), who will also be offered free escorted travel to and from Cambridge. All other participants will attend for the day on Monday September 29.

Eligibility:

  • Participants must be entering Y12 (England and Wales) Y13 (Northern Ireland), or S5 (Scotland) in September 2025 or equivalent in the academic year 2025/26, and have an interest in one or more aspects of the Medieval world.
  • Participants should be on track to achieve Grade 7 or above in GCSE at least 5 GCSEs, (or National 5 in Scotland), including at least 4 relevant subjects (e.g. languages, English, art, history, music, religious studies) and planning to take one or more relevant subjects at A level or S6.
